DurablePicks is a review site for people who are tired of replacing things. The whole frame is cost per decade: not which product has the best launch spec, but which one is still working ten years from now, and what the true price per year of service actually is.

Recent pieces show the method. A comparison of home espresso machines starts from boiler metallurgy and E61 group serviceability instead of shot-quality scores. Lifetime-guarantee socks from Darn Tough, Smartwool, and Icebreaker get compared by real cost per decade, with what the lifetime guarantees actually cover. Leather duffels from Saddleback and Filson are ranked by 30-year survival rather than first-impressions.

The failure-mode series asks one question of every product: how does this die? Work pants are ranked by where they actually blow out first. Ceramic mugs from MiiR are ranked by how they die, because they all die eventually. Airless and HVLP paint sprayers (Wagner Flexio 5000 vs Graco TrueCoat 360) are compared by 20-year survival, not spray-pattern photos.

Warranty language gets its own breakdowns, since a 'lifetime guarantee' is only worth the exclusions it doesn't contain. No inflated testing claims: cost per decade, failure modes, and repairability, with the tradeoffs stated plainly.
