About
NullClipper is a free, open-source screenshot and GIF capture tool available as a Windows tray app and a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Opera. It lets you grab a screen region or record a short GIF up to 8 seconds and places the result directly on your clipboard. The Windows app supports region, freeform, window, and full-screen captures across multiple monitors, while the browser extension captures only the current tab without injecting code into the page. An optional feature called NullImage turns each capture into an encrypted share link. Images are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM before upload, and the decryption key is generated locally and travels only in the link's fragment, which browsers never send to a server. Links can expire after 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days, optionally burn after the first view, and can be protected with an additional password. If an upload fails, the image is copied locally instead. The tool is aimed at users who want quick screen capture and private sharing without accounts or tracking. There is no sign-up for the app, extension, or NullImage, and there are no analytics, ads, or crash telemetry; settings stay on the device. NullClipper is MIT licensed, with source available on GitHub, and is part of a family of related tools including NullImage, NullDrop, and NullPaste.
